Int'l observers to monitor US election

International observers from several organizations will be keeping a close eye on the 2004 US presidential election.

In what's believed to a "first," the human-rights group, Global Exchange, has invited 20 monitors to scrutinize proceedings. Five of these experts will focus on the voting process in Florida. Global Exchange is based in San Francisco.
