President Hu's upcoming visit to Brazil boosts bilateral ties
font size

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said Tuesday Chinese President Hu Jintao's upcoming state visit to Brazil indicates that China attaches great importance to developing its relationship with Brazil.

Zhang made the remarks in reply to a reporter's question at a regular news briefing. She said that the Sino-Brazilian relations have developed smoothly over the past few years, especially after the two countries established strategic partnership.

Zhang said both countries have much in common in politics, share identical views on many international and regional issues, and have enjoyed close relations in economy, trade and technology.

Hu's forthcoming Brazilian visit also shows that the two countries highly value their sound relations, she said.

In May this year, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula successfully paid a state visit to China, during which the two sides signed a series of cooperative agreements.
