Chinese trade platform in Dubai opens gate to Syrians

A soon-to-open Chinese trade center in the UAE city of Dubai has welcomed Syrian businessmen to trade with it in the future.

Chinamexmart, the largest permanent Chinese trading platform outside China, offers an easy and direct access for the Syrian importers, said a statement of the company obtained by Xinhua on Monday.

"Our aim is to facilitate industrial and economic development in Syria through easy availability of high-quality, competitively-priced goods from reputable manufacturers in China," Vice President of the company David Xu said.

Meanwhile, the close proximity of the platform to Syria could allow the Syrian entrepreneurs an easier opportunity to explore joint venture possibilities with their Chinese counterparts, added Xu.

Chinamexmart is a joint venture with Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority, which is designed to establish a large-scale economic and trading platform for the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and Europe.

The mart, to be inaugurated on Dec. 6, covers an area of 150,000 square meters and will house 3,000 Chinese enterprises specializing on varieties of products, such as building materials, stationary, industrial equipment and furnishings.
