More than 300 journalists registered to cover the first China-ASEAN Expo, which will be heldin Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southwest China, from Nov. 3 to 6, said sources with the Expo secretariat Tuesday.
Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, Phoenix TV and Metro TV from Indonesia have participated the reporting of the exposition, said Tan Xiaogang, a personnel with the Expo secretariat.
"With more and more contacts and communications between China and ASEAN countries, media from our country all hope to become thebridge for the economic trade between China and ASEAN countries," said Cerman Simamora from Metro TV in Indonesia.
"As the first large-scale multilateral economic and trade festival between China and the ASEAN countries, the expo is sure to be the emphasis of our report," said Shi Zhu, a reporter from the International Business Daily of China.
As a specific measure taken by the Chinese government to deepenthe strategic partnership to achieved peace and prosperity betweenChina and the ASEAN countries, the expo aims to promote the negotiations on the China-ASEAN free trade zone, as well as to accelerate its building.
It is the first time for China to host an expo organized by the11 countries.
Chinese Vice-Premier Wu Yi, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Myanmar Prime Minister Soe Win, Laos Prime Minister Boungnang Vorachit, and Pham Gia Khiem, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam andother superior officials from China and the ten ASEAN countries will attend Wednesday's ceremony.
Participants will be enterprises from China, the ASEAN countriesand other countries, including 19 of the World Top 500 enterprises.
