China's first self-designed regional aircraft "Advanced Regional Jet in the 21st century (ARJ21)" debuted with sole intellectual property rights.

The ARJ21 program is part of China's aviation future, with first national investment reaching 5 billion yuan (0.6 billion US dollars). ARJ21 will have trial flight in 2006, and is expected toreceive aviation certificate by 2007. From 2008, the jets will be flying commercially.

There are already 35 orders of ARJ21. ARJ21 has the same standard with other airlines, but more advanced engine technology, said Liu Gaozhuo, general manager of the Aviation Industrial Corporation 1 (AVIC 1).

With a length of more than 31 meters and eight meters high, the jet can fly at the height of 39,000 feet and reach the speed of 450 nautical miles per hour.
