China to foster certified public accountants

China will foster a team of certified public accountants that meets the demands of the modern enterprise system.

Chinese Minister of Finance Jin Renqing made the announcement at a national accountants meeting in Beijing Wednesday.

He says the government will strengthen management of certified public accountants and improve the quality and quantity of certified public accountants in the next five years.

China now has 63 thousand certified public accountants, working in 4,900 accounting firms.
