Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation, on Thursday welcomed George W. Bush's reelection as the US president, saying it had close cooperation during his first term and expected a better bilateral relationship in the future.
"The Indonesian government hopes to strengthen bilateral cooperation with the United States under the Bush administration,"Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda told reporters at the presidential palace here.
"During his previous term, we strengthened our cooperation in dealing with international problems, in combating terrorism," Hassan said.
"We hope the cooperation will benefit the national economy, increasing export to the United States and higher investment flow into Indonesia," he said.
