A recent survey shows that China's annual pen production now totals 29 billion, accounting for 80 percent of the global market share.

That means four out of every five pens around the world are produced in China.

The survey also predicts that by next year China's total pen production will reach 35 billion.

However, experts say Chinese pen producers must focus more on technology innovation and quality control to gain bigger advantages over its global competitors.
