Chinese President Hu Jintao will put forward proposals on energy and financial cooperation during the 12th informal leadership meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), officials with the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Friday.

Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Shen Guofang told press that the proposal on energy cooperation would be offered, with a purpose to strengthen cooperation between the APEC members in such fields as new energy development, and to jointly cope with the challenges caused by fluctuations in the energy market.

China will propose to establish an Asia-Pacific financial and development center, in a bid to apply training and forum to promote information exchanges between the Asia-Pacific members in the financial field, and then to contribute to the financial cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, Shen said.

Shen said during this year's APEC informal leadership meeting, which is due to be held in Santiago, capital of Chile, between Nov.20 and 21, APEC member leaders will exchange their views over two topics, namely, mankind security and economy and trade.

According to Shen, besides the two proposals, President Hu will also expound at the meeting China's stance over the current international and regional situation, its position on global and regional cooperation, and suggestions for the future development of the APEC.
