CPPCC chairman meets Nepalese guestsSenior Chinese leader Jia Qinglin met with President of the Nepalese Congress Party (NCP) Girija Prasad Koirala and his delegation, at the Great Hall of the People here Friday. Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), spoke highly of more than 1,500 years of history of China-Nepal friendly ties, noting that the bilateral ties have stood the test of the changing international situation, with the shared concern and cultivation by generations of the two countries' leaders. China attaches great importance to the traditional friendship with Nepal, Jia said, and will enhance friendly cooperation in all fields with Nepal and develop their neighborly partnership at a faster speed and with a better quality in the new era. Jia also made positive remarks on party-to-party relations between China and Nepal, stressing the Communist Party of China (CPC) is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation with all Nepalese parties including the NCP, to jointly contributeto ties between China and Nepal. Koirala said the fast economic growth and social and political stability left him a deep impression during his every visit to China. He said the NCP will continue to promote friendly exchanges,especially between young statesmen, to pass on Nepal-China friendship by generations.
