Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will visit Indonesia and Thailand from Monday as part of his ongoing series of introductory visits to the member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
����According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during his visit to Indonesia from Nov. 8 to Nov. 9, Lee will meet with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Vice-President Jusuf Kalla, Speaker of the House of Representatives Agung Laksono and other parliamentary leaders.
During his visit to Thailand from Nov. 11 to Nov. 12, Lee will meet with Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, and have an audience with Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Meanwhile, Singapore's Defense Minister Teo Chee Hean, who willaccompany Lee on his trip to Thailand, and his Thai counterpart Sumpun Boonyanun will ink a memorandum of understanding on mutual training and logistics support between the air forces of the two countries.
Lee has already made introductory visits to neighboring Malaysia and Brunei after he became Singapore's Prime Minister in August.
ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
