Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Chinese National People's Congress Standing Committee, ended his official goodwill visit to four African countries Monday in Abuja.
President of the Nigerian Senate Adolphus Wabara saw off Wu, his wife Zhang Ruizhen and entourage at the Abuja international airport.
During his Oct. 29-Nov. 8 visit to Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Nigeria, Wu met with or held talks with government and parliamentary leaders of the four countries, exchanging views with them on bilateral relations, parliamentary exchanges and other issues of common concern.
Wu also met with leaders of political parties and local governments and entrepreneurs in the four countries. Wu's visit, widely regarded as a successful official one, has not only deepened mutual understanding between China and the four African countries, but also promoted traditional friendship and expanded mutually beneficial cooperation.
Wu paid the official visit to the four African countries at the invitation of Francis Ole Kaparo, speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya; the government and National Assembly of Zimbabwe; Amusaa K. Mwanamwambwa, speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia; Adolphus Nduneweh Wabara, president of Senate of the National Assembly of Nigeria, and Aminu Masari, president of House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Nigeria.
