440,000 lay-offs in Henan reemployed
font size

The reemployment work in central China's Henan Province achieved great results in the first three quarters this year with a total of 447,800 lay-offs reemployed across the province, fulfilling the annual target by 133.27 percent, and 129,200 older people with difficulty to find jobs were reemployed, by 37.45 percent.

Since the beginning of this year, the province has actively implemented a favorable reemployment policy by increasing input, reducing or exempting tax payment, and giving full support to the reemployment of laid-off workers. From January to September, the province's industrial and commercial, taxation and other departments reduced a total of 89.085 million yuan in tax payment. The accumulated expenditure on reemployment subsidy amounted to 249 million yuan and 199,500 reemployment preferential cards were issued to those who deserve to have them. Local governments in Xuchang, Anyang and Luohe have constantly perfected the reemployment-aid system. In the first three quarters, the province provided free training to 281,500 laid-off workers, successfully helping a group of such workers to get jobs again.
