font size

Latest statistics from Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) showed that by the end of last October Hong Kong's official foreign exchange reserve was $119.5 billion, $1.1 billion higher than the $118.4 billion in September, ranking world sixth.

The $119.5 billion total foreign exchange reserve of Hong Kong is six times that of currency circulation in the region, or 45 percent of M3 Hong Kong dollars supply.

Hong Kong's foreign exchange reserve now ranks world sixth, next only to Japan, Chinese mainland, Taiwan (China), the ROK and India.
