World SME Expo to be held in HK

World SME Expo, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC), will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center from Nov. 16 to 18, the TDC said here Monday.

More than 300 trade support service providers, industry associations, government departments, consulates, trade and investment promotion organizations from around the world will offer a wide range of SME-focused services at the expo. Tens of thousands of visitors are expected to attend the mega event, the TDC said.

"A lot of mainland entrepreneurs want to visit Hong Kong to understand personally more about the investment and business environment here," said Lai Ching Hung, head of TDC's Customer Service.

"We have mobilized colleagues from 11 mainland offices to invite more than 1,000 traders and representatives from external trade promotion organizations of over 40 mainland cities to participate in the expo. They will either join as exhibitors or visitors to collect information and seek business partners at the 'China Opportunity' Pavilion," he added.

During the expo, the TDC has also arranged a series of seminars, forums and networking activities to facilitate exchange of market information and professional analyses.

"The scale of World SME Expo this year is the largest ever, offering a one-stop solution for Hong Kong SMEs in pursuit of up-to-date market information, business opportunities and partners. It is definitely not to be missed," said Lai.
