China's industrial production grew by 15.7 percent year-on-year in October this year, with output valued at 488.5 billion yuan (59 billion US dollars), the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported Wednesday.
In the period from January to October, the value added of China's industries reached 4.3746 trillion yuan ( 529 billion US dollars), up 16.9 percent. The ratio of industrial products being sold rose to 97.79 percent in the period, up 0.16 percentage point year-on-year.
In October, the national electric power production increased 15.8 percent over the same period last year with a rise of nearly four percentage points compared with the average increase in the third quarter. Among major raw materials, crude steel and rolled steel rose 25.4 percent and 21.5 percent respectively, cement 13.3percent, and tabulate glass 27.3 percent.
Mechanical products and electronic products still maintained a high growth rate in October. Power generating equipment, boilers for power stations, gas-engines registered big rises ranging from 50.7 percent to 135.6 percent. Output of household air-conditioners was up 65.3 percent, household fans 55.3 percent, and household refrigerators 27.3 percent.
Besides, microwave stoves, electric water heaters, black-and-white televisions, video recorders and cameras reported a drop of production in October compared with the same period last year.
In the first ten months, the export of China's industrial products kept increasing at a growth rate of 33.2 percent, valued at 2.9204 trillion yuan ( 353.1 billion US dollars). The export in October alone reached 343.3 billion yuan ( 41.5 billion US dollars), up 33.8 percent year-on-year.
