China to improve IPR protection more efficiently than western countriesChinese Vice Commerce Minister Zhang Zhigang promised at the 20th Conference of Sino-Spanish Joint Committee for Economy and Trade that it would take China less time than western countries before satisfactory results can be made for curbing intellectual property rights infringements. He stressed that China takes consistent stance and hold firm attitude toward the IPR protection. Zhang confirmed that a sound legal system for IPR protection which is all in accordance with the WTO rules has been ready in China. Both administrative and judicial channels for IPR protection are available here. The administrative shield is an important feature of China's enforcement of IPR laws. In the judiciary front, special tribunals deal with IP cases in courts of various levels in China. The dual law enforcement system consolidates the protection of IPR. The Chinese government has given priority to IPR protection. The office for IPR Protection has been established which is led by Mr. Zhang. The State Council has decided to launch a one-year campaign for IPR protection from September this year until August next year. By People's Daily Online |
