A senior Palestinian delegation isdue to head to Egypt in the coming few hours to make finalarrangements for Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's funeral,official sources said on Wednesday.
The sources said that Mahmoud Abbas, general secretary of thePalestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee, metwith the delegation in the West Bank city of Ramallah before itsdeparture.
The delegation groups Palestinian Foreign Minister Nabil Shaathand members of the PLO Executive Committee and the Fatah CentralCommittee as well as security officials from the Gaza Strip and theWest Bank.
Earlier in the day, the Palestinian leadership accepted anEgyptian offer to hold funeral for Arafat in Cairo before his bodywas transferred to Ramallah for burial.
Preparations in Ramallah, mainly at Arafat's Muqataheadquarters, were underway.
In the compound, Palestinian bulldozers razed a piece of land,where a mosque was demolished by the Israeli army two years ago.Main organs of comatose Arafat, except heart and lungs, havefailed when he is clinging to life at a French hospital.
