font size

Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla will fly to Palestine on Thursday evening to attend the funeral ceremony of Yasser Arafat, an official said in Jakarta Thursday.

"(Kalla) will depart this evening to represent the president to make a condolence visit," Efak Mintardja, spokesman for the vice presidential office, was quoted by Detikcom online news service assaying.

He said President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had ordered Kalla to make the condolence visit once he heard news about Arafat's death.

Kalla will depart at 07:00 pm local time from the Halim Perdanakusumah Airport, Efak said.
