U.S. military clashes with insurgents in IraqA United States military spokesman says US-led forces now control 80 percent of Fallujah, but it will take more time to dominate the southern part of the Iraqi city. A U.S. helicopter was shot down on Friday north of Baghdad, wounding three soldiers. This attack is the third of its kind in Iraq this week, China Radio International reported on Saturday. Meanwhile, U.S. troops swept into Ramadi, west of Baghdad, arresting dozens of suspected insurgents who may have fled the battle in Fallujah. A U.S. military statement says since the assault began on Monday, 22 U.S. and five Iraqi soldiers have died and 170 U.S. soldiers have been wounded.
