A Pan Pearl River Delta Cooperation Agreement was signed in Guangzhou Thursday, to enhance

cooperation among police in nine provinces and autonomous regions, a Guangzhou-based Chinese newspaper reported.

Police in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Chengdu, Fuzhou, Nanchang, Changsha, Nanning, Haikou, Guiyang and Kunming signed the agreement, in a bid to combat cross-provincial crime more effectively.

The agreement aims to strengthening cooperation in many fields, such as the supervision of road safety and traffic control.

At the agreement signature conference, Haikou Police proposed to open a 24-hour hotline to share intelligence with other cities while Shenzhen Police suggested establishing an online coordination platform, as well as a task force to maintain constant cooperation.

Each police area will work out specific measures and plans to fulfill their responsibility.
