Visiting Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju said Monday in Luxembourg that the Chinese government will continuously promote reciprocal cooperation with Luxembourg.
Huang made the remarks in his meeting with Lucien Weiler, president of the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg.
Huang said China-Luxembourg relations have witnessed a sound development momentum with a bright future, and the increasing exchanges between the two parliaments have pushed forward the mutual understanding and friendly cooperation between the two countries and their peoples.
He said he hoped that parliaments of the two countries will strengthen exchanges and cooperation to make more contributions to the development of bilateral relations.
He noted that although China and Luxembourg have different conditions, they share identical or similar views on many international issues and have their own advantages in many fields such as finance, science, technology and culture.
Weiler spoke highly of bilateral relations, citing that bilateral economic and trade cooperation has expanded from industry to many other areas including finance, telecommunications and transportation, which has brought major benefits to the two peoples.
Weiler said bilateral relations have become part of the relationship between the European Union and China, and Luxembourg hopes to strengthen dialogues and cooperation with China so as to promote the development of bilateral ties and EU-China relations.
Huang arrived here Sunday afternoon on an official visit at the invitation of the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, which is the first leg of his four-nation tour.
He is also scheduled to visit Ireland, Turkey and Egypt.
