China urges US to send no wrong signals to Taiwan separatist forces
font size

China urged the United States not to send any wrong signals to Taiwan separatist forces, Tuesday.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue made the comment in response to words of a US State Department spokesperson at a regular press conference.

After the leader of the Taiwan Authority made the "ten-point statement," the spokesperson said that on the US side were "positive and constructive" contents in the statement.

Zhang reminded the US side should of clearly recognizing the fraudulence and grave danger of the separatist activities conducted by the Taiwan separatist forces.

The US should honor the commitments repeatedly reaffirmed by the US government and leaders to adhere to the one-China policy, observe the three Sino-US joint communiques and oppose the "Taiwan independence," she said.

The US should "refrain from sending any wrong signals to the Taiwan separatist forces," Zhang noted, adding that only by doing so can the development of China-US relations and the peace and stability across the Taiwan Straits be facilitated.
