Cambodia builds national road with Chinese assistanceA ground-breaking ceremony was held Thursday in Kratir, Cambodia, for the reconstruction of Cambodia's National Road No. 7 from Kratie province to Cambodia-Laos border. The project, assisted by the Chinese government, will be built by China's Shanghai Construction (Group) General Co. Present at the ceremony were Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Hu Qianwen and representatives of Shanghai Construction (Group) General Co., as well as some 10,000 local people. Shanghai Vice Mayor Zhou Yupeng who headed a governmental economic and trade delegation also attended the ceremony. The project is estimated to cost 600 million RMB yuan (more than 73 million US dollars) and will be completed in 44 months. |
