Chinese IT firms to attend CeBIT in Hannover

Leading Chinese IT and electronic companies expect to attend the CeBIT, an information and communications technology fair which will be held in Hannover, Germany in March.

The 241 companies from the Chinese mainland will be the third largest group, following companies from Germany and Taiwan province, said the source with Hannover Fairs China, Thursday.

The source said that so far about 1,500 out of 6,200 companies to attend the exhibition will be from Asia and the Pacific. This includes 726 Taiwan companies and 148 Hong Kong firms.

Chinese mainland companies will bring to the fair the latest products of mobile communication facilities, consumer electronic products and computers including LCD televisions, notebook computers and communication software.

China has become a leading IT and electronic product manufacturer. The industry reported a sales revenue of 1.88 trillion yuan (227.34 billion US dollars) in the first nine months of this year in the Chinese mainland, according to the Ministry of Information Industry.
