According to the 2003 Urban Noise Environment Quality Report released by Environmental Monitoring Station under China Environmental Protection Administration, the top ten cities enjoying the considerably good environment from noise are Jinan, Yantai, Yinchuan, Xining, Hefei, Qinhuangdao, Ningbo, Urumqi, Shenyang and Guilin

The report is based on a careful monitoring conducted by China Environmental Monitoring Station over the road traffic environmental quality and the regional environmental noise quality of 52 national level cities.
