NW China pipeline resumes oil supply after leakage
font size

The oil pipeline between Jingbian and Xianyang, two cities in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, has resumed crude oil supply after Wednesday's leakage.

The pipeline burst at 2:00 am Wednesday at its Yan'an section, causing a leakage of more than 1,000 tons of crude oil, a direct economic loss of 4 million yuan (480,000 US dollars).

The local government immediately organized a working team to weld the pipeline and clean local highways and farmland that were tainted with oil.

Local police assumed someone had drilled holes on the pipeline to steal oil, as tools were found at the site including spanners, valves and fire engine hose.

Investigation is still going on.
