Iran carries out promised suspension: report

Iran on Monday suspended its uraniumenrichment activities under a commitment in an agreement reached with the European Union, the state TV reported.

"In line with the agreement with the Europeans, Iran has suspended its enrichment activities," the report said, without revealing further details.

Tehran announced on Nov. 15 that it would carry out a downright suspension of uranium enrichment activities on Nov. 22 according tothe agreement reached with the European trio of France, Germany andBritain after two-month negotiations.

The International Atomic Energy Agency is due to hold its Board of Governors' meeting on Thursday to discuss Iran's nuclear issue.

The United States has accused Iran of developing nuclear weaponssecretly, but Tehran has denied and said its nuclear plan was completely peaceful.
