China will work with Egypt to add new contents to bilateral friendly relations, said Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju in Cairo Monday.
Huang made the remarks at separate meetings with Speaker Ahmed Fathi Sorour of the People's Assembly and Speaker Muhammad Safwat Muhammad Yousuf el-Sharif of the Shura Council (Advisory Council) of Egypt.
Huang said China's National People's Congress, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and the People's Assembly and the Shura Council of Egypt play very important roles in the two countries, and both sides have maintained close contacts in the past years.
He said he hoped that both sides will strengthen cooperation and learn from each other in exploring development paths suited totheir own conditions so as to jointly promote the further development of bilateral strategic and cooperative relations.
Huang also said Egypt has committed itself to the promotion of peaceful settlement of international and regional issues, and the Chinese side will keep consultations and coordination with Egypt to jointly safeguard the interests of developing countries and promote world peace and development.
Sorour said the Egyptian side hopes to learn more from China'ssuccessful experiences and welcomes more Chinese investment.
El-Sharif said different political parties of Egypt share the view to develop strategic and cooperative relations with China although they have different opinions on Egypt's foreign policy.
He also spoke highly of China's just position in internationaland regional affairs, hoping that China will play a greater role in this regard.
Egypt is the last leg of Huang's four-nation tour. He visited Luxembourg, Ireland and Turkey before arriving here Saturday evening.
Huang is scheduled to conclude his official visit to Egypt Wednesday.
