Chinese defense minister urges to cooperate with Canadian armyThe Chinese armed forces hoped to expand cooperation with its Canadian counterpart, said Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan in Beijing Monday in a meeting with Canada's Chief of the Defence Staff Ray Henault. Cao, also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission and state councilor, said based on the all-round development of Sino-Canadian ties, Chinese and Canadian military armed forces have conducted exchanges and cooperation in various fields in recent years, witnessing good momentum in the development of the relations between the two armies. Cao expressed his hope that the two armed forces should maintain high-level visits, enhance strategic dialogue, deepen the existing professional exchanges, and expand new fields of cooperation, so as to lift the relations between the two armies and two countries into a new high.
