Chinese striker pays 282,000 dollars to disabled teammate
At a press conference held in Beijing Nov 22, Zhang Yuning, a striker of the Shanghai Shenhua Football Club shows his photo with Qu Leheng, his former Liaoning club teammate who had been disabled in a car crash four years ago. Zhang was the driver of the car as the accident happened. Zhang apologizes to Qu at the press confrence. The Shenyang Intermediate People's Court ruled on Nov 10th that Zhang should pay Qu 2.34 million yuan as compensation.

Black boxes of crashed plane found in lake
Black boxes of the passenger plane crashed Sunday in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, were found in the lake November 24, 2004. The black boxes, a pilot cabin voice recorder and flight data recorder, could help determine the cause of the crash that killed 54 people, including one man on the ground.

Collisions kill 4, including a policeman
Two trucks collided Monday along the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway Leiyang section in Central China's Hunan Province because of heavy fog. Half an hour later, another collision occurred 3 kilometres away, involving 3 trucks and causing major traffic tie-ups. Police who arrived there began directing traffic when another truck slammed into a police car, killing a police officer as he stood on the roadway shoulder. Three other people were killed and five injured, three seriously, in the multiple collision. (newsphoto)
