Members incline to expel Slavkov from IOC
font size

Olympic chiefs recommended on November 26 that Bulgaria's Ivan Slavkov be expelled from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for tarnishing its reputation.

The Executive Board urged fellow Olympic members to eject Slavkov at the full IOC session in Singapore in July.

A two-thirds majority of the hundred-plus members who will attend that session will be required for Slavkov's expulsion.

The head of the Bulgarian National Olympic Committee, 64-year-old Slavkov was suspended from the IOC in August after being implicated in a BBC undercover investigation into alleged corruption in the bid city process.
