Premier Wen leaves for ASEAN meetings in Laos

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao left Beijing Sunday morning to attend the upcoming relevant meetings of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), slated to be held in Vientiane, capital of Laos, from Nov. 28 to 30.

Wen will also pay an official visit to Laos as guest of his Laotian counterpart Boungnang Vorachit.

The eighth summit meeting between the ASEAN and China, the eighth summit meeting among the ASEAN, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK), as well as the sixth China, Japan and ROK summit meeting will also be held in Vientiane during the period.

Wen's entourage includes Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, Minister of Finance Jin Renqing, Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai, Governor of Yunnan Province Xu Rongkai and Chairman of the GuangxiZhuang Autonomous Region Lu Bing.

Both of the Chinese province and region are located in the vicinity of the ASEAN nations including Laos.
