Russian Defense Minister Sergey Ivanov reported to President Vladimir Putin on Monday that Russia has successfully test-launched an anti-missile system in Kazakhstan, the Itar-Tass news agency said.

"An anti-missile missile was successfully launched at the Sary-Shagaz testing area in Kazakhstan at 11:00 today (0800 GMT)," the defense minister was quoted as saying.

Ivanov said Russia will continue to improve and modernize its anti-missile defense system.
