US plane with 6 on board missing in Afghanistan

A US military transport plane with six Americans on board has gone missing in Afghanistan since last Saturday, a US military statement said Tuesday.

"A CASA-212 transport plane with six persons including three crew and three soldiers on board was missing in Afghanistan Saturday afternoon," said the statement.

Citing security reasons, the statement did not disclose the place where it goes missing or the cause of the incident.

A team has been constituted to search for it,  it said.

A US unmanned plane crashed in southeast Afghanistan around two weeks ago.
