Rolls Royce shows off 100EX in HK

Rolls Royce's prototype 100EX Centenary Experimental Car is displayed in Hong Kong Tuesday.

The display is to mark the company's 100th anniversary, China Radio International reported Tuesday.

The 100EX is the first Rolls Royce concept since the British automaker was taken over by Bayerische Motoren-Werke AG or BMW in 1998.

The car's next stop is Shanghai, China.

Meanwhile, BMW said earlier that it will make an armoured model to cash in on growing fears among the world's wealthy motorists over terrorism The car will be designed with technology to deter would-be kidnappers, a useful addition in Hong Kong where businessmen who travel in China and pop stars live in fear of abduction, following a spate of such incidents in recent years.
