Japan's aid to China is not unilateral benefaction: FM spokeswoman
font size

Japan's aid to China is not unilateral benefaction. It is hoped that the aid will continue to be positive factor for Sino-Japanese relation, says spokeswomen of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zhang Qiyue Dec 1st.

At a routine press conference of the Ministry, a reporter asks whether the statement "China will develop without Japanese aid" the official opinion of China? Zhang says China's stance is very clear at this issue. In the past years Japan's aid have played active functions to certain extent, and China have made positive comments on the aid for many times. But it should be noted that the aid not only promotes rapid growth of economic cooperation between China and Japan, but also brings Japanese enterprise benefits. The aid to China is not unilateral benefaction therefore. It used to serve as a positive factor in the Sino-Japanese relations. Hope it will continue to be a factor that pushes the relations forward.

Last month, the Japanese PM Koizumi and FM Machimura Nobutaka say at ASEAN 10+3 meeting that Japan will cease economic aid to China in near future, for which Chinese FM Li Zhaoxing and Wu Dawei have made comments respectively. They say China is capable to build itself and this will not affect Sino-Japanese relations.
