Main field of West-to-East Gas Project feeds gas

The main gas field of the West-to-East Natural Gas Transmission Project - the Tarim Oil Field Kela 2 Gas Field on Wednesday officially began to feed gas to the west-to-east transmission pipeline and realized the gas feeding at the source of the West-to-East Natural Gas Transmission Project as scheduled. According to the master development plan for the upstream gas field of the west-to-east gas project the Tarim Oil Field would build a production scale of transmitting 10.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually at the Kela 2 Gas Field.

The Kela 2 Gas Field is located in Baicheng County in the north part of Xinjiang Tarim Basin with a gas area of 47 square kilometers. The height of its gas column in reserve is 500 meters. Its confirmed natural gas reserves are 2,840 cubic meters with exploitable reserves of 2,290 cubic meters. It is China's largest packaged natural gas field. Two wells that have been put into production have a capacity of feeding over 100 million cubic meters of natural gas, which can supply for the use of 100 million households in the east region.
