Photo exhibition on Deng Xiaoping's life opens in Macao

A photo exhibition describing the life the late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping opened in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Thursday.

"Giant of the Century" -- Exhibition to Commemorate the Centennial of the Birth of Deng Xiaoping was co-sponsored by the Macao Culture Institute, the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR and the China National Museum.

The photo show, to be closed on Feb. 27 next year, is one of the activities to mark the fifth anniversary of the founding of the Macao SAR, which falls on Dec. 20.

Chief Executive of the Macao SAR Edmund Ho Hau Wah, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR Xu Ze, Leng Rong, deputy director of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry in the Macao SAR Wan Yongxiang, Commander of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Garrison in Macao Liu Lianhua and Deng Xiaoping's daughter Deng Lin attended the opening ceremony of the show.
