China is satisfied with the current China-Netherlands relationship and expect Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to achieve positive results, said Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui Friday.
In recent years, high-level officials from China and the Netherlands have often visited each other and the countries' economic and trade cooperation have achieved great progress. The Netherlands has been China's second biggest trade partner in Europe for two consecutive years, Zhang told reporters.
"Both sides have made great achievements in many fields," he said.
There is still plenty of room for cooperation in agriculture, science and technology, education, health and environmental protection, Zhang said.
During the Seventh China-EU Leaders' Meeting and his visit to the Netherlands, Wen will exchange views with the Netherlands on how to further promote relations. "China looks forward and believe the visit will achieve positive results."
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao will visit the Netherlands from Dec.7 to 9, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue announced Thursday.
The premier will attend the Seventh China-EU Leaders' Meeting in the Hague. Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende, European Commission (EC) President Jose Manuel Barroso and Javier Solana, secretary general of the Council of the European Union (EU) and representative for the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy, will all be in attendance.
During his stay, Wen will pay an official visit to the Netherlands as guest of his Dutch counterpart Balkenende.
