Chinese delegation arrives in Cairo for economic cooperation

A high-ranking delegation led by Chinese Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai arrived in Cairo on Saturday evening for a four-day visit aimed at promoting economic cooperation between the two countries.

Bo is due to meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Prime Minister Ahmed Nazef on Sunday to talk about bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

The visit comes as part of China's efforts to further develop bilateral relations, especially economic cooperation, following asummit between Chinese President Hu Jintao and President Mubarak inJanuary.

The delegation will also seek to further enhance Chinese investment in Egypt, especially in the Northwest Economic Zone of the Gulf of Suez.

An Egypt-China economic and trade cooperation forum will also be opened on Sunday as Egyptian and Chinese entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to explore ways of cooperation.
