    Fallujah refugees

    A family from Fallujah sit in the sun in a refugee camp inside the University of Nahreen in Iraq's capital of Baghdad Dec. 3, 2004. Some 534 Fallujah refugees, in total of 130 families, live in the university. With the help of local mosques and social aid organizations, they have been living here for over 20 days, not konwing when to return their home.

    Efforts tightened to ensure safe winter for landslide victims

Along with donations, winter clothes, rice of 5.1 tons, over 9, 000 quilts and coal of 150 tons were delivered the people in Zuojiaying Village, which was severely hit by a landslide previously.

    HK sees the 20 millionth tourist

    Kuwait to invest US$ 10 billion in oil projects

    World's first vaccine for SARS safe and effective after phase-one clinical test

The Chinese government announced that the world's first vaccine for severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) emerged from the phase-one clinical test as both safe and effective in Beijing Dec.5, 2004. Pre-clinical test was basically completed last November after 6-month work.
