Zhoushan plans desalinization project to ease water shortage
font size

China's biggest ever desalinization project is to be built in Zhoushan city, in East China's Zhejiang Province.

50 million yuan or about 6 million US dollars have been invested in the project, which will desalinize ten thousand ton sea water each day.

The first phase of the project is expected to be completed next year.

Zhoushan is one of the most water-starved cities in China. The new project could help ease the numerous problems associated with water shortages in the city.
