Mexico arrests 17 public servants linked to Cancun killings
font size

Seventeen public servants in connection with drug-related killings in the resort city of Cancun were arrested Sunday, Mexican authorities said.

The arrested -- federal investigators, prosecutors, and police officers -- are now being kept in a property in Mexico City for questioning, said the federal attorney general's office.

Eight people were killed execution style late last month in and around Cancun, including three federal policemen. The killings were believed to be the result of a drug war between rival drug gangs.
