HK foreign currency reserves hit 121.5 billion US dollars

Hong Kong's foreign currency reserve assets amounted to 121.5 billion US dollars in November, up almost 2 percent when compared with the October figure.

According to a government press release, in terms of foreign currency reserves ranking, Hong Kong is the world's sixth largest holder of foreign currency reserves, after Japan, the Chinese mainland, China's Taiwan, South Korea and India.

Including unsettled forward contracts, the foreign currency reserve assets stood at 121.5 billion US dollars. The figure for October was 120 billion US dollars.

The total foreign currency reserve assets of 121.5 billion US dollars represent over six times the currency in circulation.
