Chinese FM talks with Annan over phone

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, who arrived in London on Thursday for a visit to Britain, talked with UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan over phone.

During their talks, Li said the Chinese government appreciates and supports the UN chief's efforts to enhance multilateralism and maintain the United Nation's authorities and influence. Annan said he appreciates the comments.

The two sides also exchanged views on the UN reforms and other issues, according to the Chinese Embassy in London.
