The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and the Royal Swedish Navy (RSwN) concluded on Friday their ninth annual Mine Countermeasures (MCM) Exchange Program in the island state.

A statement issued by the Defense Ministry on Friday said the exchange program included a Command Post Exercise and presentations by the two navies on MCM-related subjects.

It said that the successful conclusion of the 12-day program starting from Nov. 29 reflects the good relations and long-standing cooperation between the RSN and RSwN.

Under the code name of Lejon Singa, the program has been conducted since 1996 with the aim to provide opportunities for theRSN and RSwN to share expertise in MCM operations.

The statement said that programs such as Lejon Singa are part of the regular exchanges that have strengthened professional ties and fostered friendship among participants.
