China cancels import restriction of five commodities
font size

China will lift restriction for the import of steel, natural rubber, wool, acrylic fibers and veneer as from Dec. 11 of 2004, according to sources with the Ministry of Commerce Saturday.

All eligible enterprises can import the five commodities, the sources said.

The move was made in accordance with its commitments to the World Trade Organization.

Meanwhile, the ministry said a regulation on designated management of imports and two catalogues on designated import commodities and importers have also become void.

The restriction of timber importation has already been canceled in 1999, according sources with the ministry.
