China has ensured its second title of the ITTF Pro Tour finals after Wang Nan and Zhang Yining powered past Lee Eun Sil and Suk Eun Mi of South Korea 4-2 in the women's doubles in Beijing on December 11.
Wang and Zhang, who eliminated Liu Jia and Veronika Heine of Austria 4-0 (11-5, 11-4, 11-5, 11-6) earlier, ousted Lee and Suk 4-2 (11-3, 11-9, 3-11, 11-1, 5-11 and 11-6) in the second round to make the final.
For the victory, Zhang lamented that they were mentally and physically tired having played so many matches within a day and it was the spin and rhythem in the match that helped them dominate the whole game.
In an earlier semifinal, another Chinese pair Niu Jianfeng and Guo Yue ousted Song Ah Sim and Tie Yana with a 4-0 rout (11-8, 11-9, 11-6 and 11-6).
The men's doubles is the earlier sure bet for China after Kong Linghui and Wang Hao swept past Ko Lai Chak and Li Ching of Chinese Hong Kong 4-1 on Saturday.
The Hong Kong players, silver medallists in Athens Olympics, took the third set 11-9 after they conceded the first two with an identical score 11-3.
Awake from lethargy, the Chinese pair fought back to take the fourth and fifth sets to seal the victory 11-3, 11-3, 9-11, 11-6, 11-8.
In an earlier semi, Chinese pair of Ma Lin and Chen Qi edged out Micheal Maze and Finn Tugwell of Denmark in a stunning seven-setter 11-8, 11-9, 9-11, 6-11, 11-5, 10-12 and 11-8.
The men's doubles title match is slated on Sunday.
