Palestinian elections committee accuses Israel of interferenceThe Palestinian elections committee said Saturday that Israel's arresting of a Palestinian presidential candidate is unconcealed interference. Jamal al-Shoubaki, chief of the committee, told reporters "this is a clear breaking to what Israel promised the international society." The Israeli army arrested on Friday night Bassam al-Salhi, the candidate of the People's Party for the Jan. 9 election, at al-Ram roadblock in the West Bank after being refused access to Jerusalem.
